Nicole. There is and has always been a huge disconnect in Feminism between white and black women. White middle -to upper middle class women and men (the majority of those who consider themselves “Feminists”) just do not understand that the kind of equality in sexual freedom that they are fighting for everyone to have the “right” to, can not, will not and in fact does not, play out in the same for us women in the Black community.

We simply do not have the family or financial resources to fall back onto when our sexual freedom goes wrong. Rather we spiral into a dark abyss of poverty, disease, and hooking, and then pass this off to the next generation and the cycle continues over multi-generations.

This is the point I was trying to get across here regarding the Amber cole case;

My first comment begins here. See the replies and discussion that ensues. To be fair I don’t think they are being obtuse or disingenous. I think that after all these years, they really are still genuinely clueless about the pathologies and dysfunctions in our society.
