Chicken and Red Radishes Stew Recipe
You will need:
4 large carrots
8 to 10 red radishes
2 to 4 potatoes
3 cloves of garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
Salt and pepper your chicken.
Fry the chicken in some olive oil until slightly browned, and then add the onions.
When the onions are just starting to be somewhat clear at the edges, add the rest of the vegetables and garlic.
saute just a bit to get the vegetables coated with oil, and then add enough hot water to cover.
If you like, add more salt and pepper to your taste. Some also like to add soup mix or a “Vegeta” type vegetable condiment.
Bring it to a boil, and then turn the heat down to low, and allow it to simmer for an hour.
Many people like to eat radishes raw in salads, but they are also very good cooked. It is common to see cooked daikon in Asian dishes, but the red radishes are very good too. When the are cooked, they are sweet and no longer nearly as spicy. The flavor is somewhat similar to cabbage, but milder. Some like to use it as a low carb replacement for potatoes.
