The Kid’s Got Game

Some weeks ago, I saw a cute kid, obviously a soldier, hold two girls in thrall until the “big alpha” showed up.  In the dilema between breaking away to greet his friend and chatting up the two girls, it was bros before hoes.  Up until that point though, Kahuna and I couldn’t hear what he was saying, but we could see what he was doing.

Last night, while waiting for a taxi after my usual grueling walk with Hypatia, I had the opportunity to meet and speak to the young man, and get clarification of the event I witnessed.

He was a mildly edgy, but polite young man.  From his language and mannerisms, one could tell he was well raised and has stable, if mildly “gangsta” male role models in his life.  Upon quizzing him a little about his background, he says, and the friend who was with him confirmed, that he never had any trouble talking to girls.  “They’re just girls,” he said with a shrug and a sideways smile.

What a cutie.  He’s going to break some hearts.
