last minute

i tend to go for warriors,
because we have some things in common:
mutual friends who are assholes,
but those two you can rely on.

some worries i don’t like to have.
some games i hate playing.
so i’m kinda careful if you don’t mind,
in whose bed i’m laying.

but every so often i get a surprise.
well not really that shocking.
i’ve apparently met the luckiest mf,
and then i start walking.

DUDE!

it’s all nothing. it’s nothing. it’s for nothing.
how did you miss that? how didn’t you get that?

all we can do is pass the time and love. stay alive. or don’t. it doesn’t matter.

we’re all coming back to whatever world,
in whatever state we helped to leave it.
all we can do is pass the time. help others pass the time.
and when it’s up, don’t grieve it.

i’m not everybody’s cup of tea.
not even everybody’s side of fries.
my milkshake doesn’t bring that many boys to the yard.
i’m not here to tell you lies.

they are not beating down my door,
and if they did i’d probably shank them.
and the few, the proud, the ones i didn’t scare away,
well I have the sense to thank them.

so thank you for your time and attention i guess.
it was nice while it lasted i suppose.
but you haven’t lost enough yet. it hasn’t cost enough yet.
but one day you’ll know what i know.

it’s for nothing. it’s nothing. it’s all nothing.
just one great big nothing for nobody to get nowhere.

you will go and return and never ever earn,
a piece of peace.

when you get close enough that you don’t feel the cold,
you don’t feel the old,
everything that you sold,
all you crawled to hold,

was for nothing.

will you laugh or will you scream?

at the last minute,
at the last breath,
when there is nothing,
to wait for but death.

yeah it’s heavy,
but this is me.
it’s why i stick to warriors
because they’re like me well usually.

don’t know what your deal is.
i guess we will see.
