Y’all know I am no fan of western or eastern or any kind of imperialism, but I do try not to forget that there are human beings between the politicians who are human but inhumane. Here’s one of their perspectives that I think folks should consider.
This is part of the wider phenomenon in the Western ‘anti-war’ movement, usually called ‘campism’ by critics on the Left. British-Syrian author and activist Leila Al-Shami gave it a stronger name: the “anti-imperialism of idiots”. Read her wonderful 2018 essay if you haven’t done so yet.
