I know the popular tactic for getting loved ones off the Qrack is gentle compassion or epistemological conversation, but as time goes on I’m leaning more towards outright ridicule. This isn’t a pop psychology either-or abuser/codependent or megalomaniac/cultist situation. It’s more like the real deal where the victims are already or become abusers themselves. It’s designed that way the same way the malignant as opposed to ignorant type of abusers groom their victims to assist them. The victims acquire moral injuries that require they either invest or double down in their harmful pattern, or at some point figure they’re too far gone and stopping the cycle would require accountability for the harm they’ve done.
On the one hand, one could say that this is just part and parcel with “white” supremacy, and these people have been groomed all their lives either as beneficiaries or collaborators with a system that was in place hundreds of years or whatever. The problem with that is that since that system has existed, there have been critics who questioned it. It wasn’t always without some hypocrisy or with full awareness, but it’s not as if there were no voices opposing “white” supremacy, especially during the creation and modifications of the definition of “white”.
Yes there is deception, shallowness, and hypocrisy, but those of us who served in the military swore to defend the same constitution. Though it is flawed, it is heavy on the human rights, and everybody in the U.S. is clear that the American *ideal* is anti racist even if it is not always adhered to. In fact, one of the things “white” supremacists complain about is that people don’t generally respond well to their racism. Even other racists who have a shred of intelligence will ostracize other racists who are too tactless to keep it on the downlow.
What I’m saying is that these people are not unaware that what they are doing is not just harmful, but anti American inasmuch as what the vast majority have been taught America is. They play as if they don’t know because they are invested due to moral injury, but they know. They are purposefully hoping to reverse what little surface progress has been made and prevent certain elements of the social and legal sphere from changing in a way that would curtail some harmful activity they’re involved and invested in and/or reduce their perceived current status.
For example, imagine a Child Protective Service that was not being budgeted and manipulated to harass the low income, especially those who are Indigenous Americans. Imagine one that was seriously working for the wellbeing of children. Now think about all the people who are currently exposing their kids to Covid.
…
Do you think all those people *just* started abusing their kids at a potentially fatal level last year? No. They’ve likely been doing crazy stuff like that family who put their 9 year old daughter on a diet and made her run herself to death for some time. They could get away with it because even though everybody around them knew they were doing that kind of thing, there was nothing to be done about it because the authorities were never going to do anything meaningful about it.
Some Qrackheads don’t want anything to get better for the people they are abusing. Some don’t want to lose money or status due to a system they’re quite comfortable exploiting becomes less comfortable for exploiters.
So I’m thinking the way to go is treat them like I understand their motivation, and not pretend that I don’t. They have an interest. This is interest based beliefs and politics. Some few might actually be brainwashed because they think they found a social group who would accept them, but up until they rack up some atrocities, they’ll probably opt out once they get a view of what’s really on the other side of whatever “initiation” or loyalty tests their cluster has going. Once they do cross the line though, being just as human as all of us, they know and should be treated accordingly.
