Love Revolution

(Gay) Male love, like loving a “lower” caste woman, is a revolutionary act. By love, I mean actual love, not just shagging. Because it’s not socially acceptable, people sort of expect you to do it on the downlow, and even if you’re publicly out, to be casual and promiscuous. To actually love the person society says is worthless is to say, “Fuck society!” It is to elevate that which social convention says is the least, to the greatest in your world. It is to validate and legitimize what the culture says deserves a lower status or no status.

I’m not saying that people shouldn’t explore or experiment or have casual fun at all. I’m just saying that you may want to check yourself to see if you are truly being carefree, or if you are downgrading your partners because society does. Bonus, since we’re talking about men here, are you perhaps downgrading your partners because you’re male and though you’re of a different orientation, perhaps you’ve had it culturally embedded in you that you have to be cavalier and promiscuous because “that’s just how men are”. Are you, like many straight men, unaware of the power of your sexuality and the value of your love, and therefore doing that to your partners?

Just something to think about.
