Blog: Diva Was Right. Classically Masculine People/Men Do Need To Be Nearly Hand Fed. Also, I’ve Realized My Secret Passion is Marketing.

Okay, first things first, even though they are grown ass adults and shouldn’t need someone to hold their hand and make them eat nutritious food, nature doesn’t care about shoulds. Whether it’s because they’re socialized that way or not, or whether that socialization is because of patriarchy/hegemonic masculinity or super secret sisterhood power dynamics fostering dependency, or whatever, they need someone to make them eat right. If we who lean classically feminine don’t basically put balanced meals in front of them and dare them to waste it, they will just die from eating nothing but handfuls of vitamin pills and cookies with a few nuts and bananas thrown in for fiber.

I fought this understanding. For years. Diva kept trying to tell me. I kept having to eat leftovers Shai was informed of but had not even opened.

A few weeks ago, as I was feeding the cats remnants of a turkey breast I had rubbed spices from Diva’s Wolf’s garden, precious as they are, into, something in me broke.

Now I don’t ask, “Are you hungry dear?” or inform, “Honey, there is xyz in the fridge.”

Now, it’s, “I made this. It’s on the table. Come eat it please.” I am polite. I still say please, albeit in a somewhat threatening tone.

Water Witch Creations: Ancestor Bottles and More

It has been a time of self discovery. Externally, a lot has been going on with the death of the bird site. I had the inner call that my people need me, so I rethought and am carrying out plans to ensure this doesn’t lead to the obscurity of people I like. I even unconsciously made a graphic for Water Witch Creations:

Then someone on Mastodon, tackling the issue of the difference between spam and artist self promotion said something that tickled my soul. It was something that I knew about myself, but hadn’t learned to articulate up to that point.

It was the artist behind Abandoned America. He was saying something like if you hate reading our self promotion hustle, well we hate doing that hustling. He said none of us got into this line of work because of a secret passion for marketing.

I thought to myself, “Wait a minute. I am doing what I do exactly because I have a secret passion for marketing.”

As y’all know, I am a compulsive curator. Avoiding any kind of diagnosis since a bad experience with that in the Navy, I am aware of some neurodivergence in myself that I refuse to label. It leads me to collect and arrange information, and for some reason, the way I present it makes sense to people. For a time I thought this might lead me into some sort of teaching role, but I don’t have the patience or people skills for that. What I can do however, is assemble a pretty good encyclopedia, portal, or TLDR presentation of highlights.

Though I’m more into astronomic awareness than astrology, one of the interesting ways I am like a typical Gemini is that it is as fun for me when my friends get some as it is when I do. I am happy when my loved ones get laid, make money, or get any other kind of blessing, and it makes me feel good to be a part of making it happen. Okay, so do a lot of people, but then I started doing it for strangers. I will just find someone on the internet, like them, and decide that’s going to be my project. They get visibility, and my sites get more traffic because I’m bringing the good content. It’s a win win.

Volunteer marketing doesn’t pay the bills though, and people shouldn’t wait around for someone like me to happen upon them because I am obviously weird. So hire me. I can do many things to help someone gain visibility despite the biased algorithms, and without shady tactics, spam, or bots. It is my passion.
